St. Eugene Church in Oklahoma City Taking Shape
Oklahoma City, OK, December, 2011 — St. Eugene’s Catholic Church, designed by Architectural Design Group, Inc., an Oklahoma City-based architecture and planning firm, is currently under construction and slated for completion in time for Easter 2012. Timberlake Construction is the contractor for the new building.
Members of St. Eugene’s large congregation have been working to fulfill their dream of building a new church since the 1960s. Father Joseph Jacobi has led the growing congregation since 2001, and has been an integral part of the planning and design process of the new church along with congregation members on the planning committee.
The 20,000-square-foot Renaissance-style sanctuary will seat over 800 people housing both traditional mass and Spanish mass. The design complements the exisitng church and adjoining St. Eugene Catholic School fitting within the context of its neighborhood in the Village. Located on heavily-traveled Hefner Road, the construction of the prominent catholic church is highly-visible in Oklahoma City.
Architectural Design Group continues church design throughout Oklahoma including the following current projects: master plans for Crossroads Church, Southern Hills United Methodist Church, Chapel Hill United Methodist, and Bethany First Church of the Nazarene; a new contemporary worship center for Crossings Christian Church; sanctuary renovations and a landscaped columbarium at Mayflower Congregational Church; and a sanctuary renovation at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Woodward.
